The results of the 2023 Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC) organized by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) and the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) organized by the Australian Mathematics Federation were announced recently, and the International High School Department received nearly 200 positive reports. Kevin is one of the top students in my math class. I started teaching him the AS-level math course of Probability and Statistics 1 in the academic year of 2022-23 and am still teaching him the A2-level math course of Pure Math 3 in the current academic year. Kevin has consistently performed well at the top level in the school examinations and the formal AS-level math examinations. He has shown strong math capabilities and extensive interest in math knowledge, concepts, methods and questions. He is fully engaged and interacts constantly with the teacher in the classroom. He is always keen in doing the homework and at the same time exploring other math problems and questions beyond the scope of the syllabus. Kevin has the necessary academic potential and right attitude to study math well. Recently, the school has implemented the Individual Development Plan (IDP) program which aims to focus on the comprehensive and personalized development of students and support the students' further study and future development. The implementation of the IDP program has further boosted Kevin’s motivation and interest in exploring various math topics and activities, including participating in the prestigious high-school level math competitions. I am confident that with solid academic capabilities and strong motivation, Kevin can be very successful in his future career endeavors.
